How reliable is your current backup solution?

What would happen if your company lost all of its data?  Did you know that 80% of small and medium businesses do not have an acceptable backup and that 20% of nightly backups fail? Tape backup devices are inconsistent and prone to human error.  Recovering data from backup tapes fail more than 50% of the time and can be up to 400 times slower than recovering data from a disk.  This is important to consider when your business is down and customers are lining up.  The cost and effort it takes to administer tape backup systems – rotating tapes, replacing tapes, cleaning your device, verifying data and transporting offsite can get to be a hassle, so much so, that many just fail to complete those bothersome tasks.

External hard-drive kits are usually very small in design and come with no fans causing the drive or USB interface inside to fail. Like tape backups, external drives also backup at an interval, usually controlled by third party software creating more points of failure and cost.

CDP (Continuous Data Protection)

CDP is a network device that provides an automatic, real-time backup for PCs, laptops, and servers.  Unlike backup devices which require nightly scheduled backups, CDP allows you to recover data from any server, laptop or PC from any point in time.  The CDP series product installs on your local network and collects data from client workstations and servers.    All data is backed up real-time at a block level difference within each file and then compressed so network bandwidth is not impacted or compromised.  The sophisticated, centralized management console enables our IT staff to effectively and efficiently administer your backup, locally and remotely.  The central management console not only enables our IT staff to setup individual backup policies but also allows remote recovery of critical file revisions and vital statistical information.  A few of the many databases and applications that CDP support include: QuickBooks, PeachTree, ACT!, Exchange Server, SQL Server, Microsoft Active Directory, Outlook, and Outlook Express.

How should I prepare for natural disasters?

For any company, large or small, data is the most treasured asset not the dispensable hardware it resides on.  If your customer records, email, databases and other priceless information was lost in a fire or storm; what would happen to your company?
When subscribed to our Live Backup offsite service, all data collected locally at your business can be set to backup to our offsite data center locations using military strength standard AES 256-bit encryption.  In the event that a catastrophe should happen, you’re data is securely locked away for easy recovery.
We have three offsite packages available to choose from.  The Bronze package accommodates up to 10GB of storage, the Silver package up to 20GB, and the Gold up to 30GB.   Other accommodations can be met if needed.  Call 251.947.3282 or contact sales@datatrustinc.com for pricing information.
